Acupressure
Accupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers or blunted objects for pressing key points that are also called ‘Acu Points.’ These energy-stored points work rhythmically on the skin surface to strengthen the body’s natural self-curative abilities. These points release muscular tension when pressed and boost blood circulation to aid healing.
Accupressure or acupuncture uses similar points while acupressure uses gentle but firm pressure with a blunted object or hands (acupuncture is practised with needles). It has been more than 5,000 years that Accupressure is being used as a healing art. This healing system is used to treat over 3000 conditions. Acupoints are now commonly treated by using laser light from laser or LED diodes or transcutaneous electric nerve stimulation (aka TENS) in specific wavelengths. Accupressure works on the specific reflex points located along the energy lines that run through the body (called meridians). There are a total of 14 main meridian lines and each of them resembles an individual body organ. Once these vital energies start flowing through the meridian in an even and balanced manner, it brings good health. If you feel illness or pain, it indicates that there is a leak or block in the energy flow in your body. To search for an appropriate point, gently press by the time a point is found that gives a sensitive, sore, or tender feeling. After this, press it hard enough to make this point hurt. Power is given through pressure or five seconds on or off rotating pressure. One minute is enough for each treatment session. Accupressure is an effective treatment to relieve sinus problems, eyestrain, neck pain, headaches, muscle aches, arthritis, and tension due to stress, ulcer pain, menstrual cramps, constipation, lower backaches, anxiety, insomnia, and indigestion. It comes with an advantage to balance the body as well as maintain good health. Accupressure’s healing touch reduces stress and stimulates circulation by enabling the body to relax. By reducing stress, it boosts resistance to disease and promotes wellness
